Superhero Baby Shower
Are you hosting a baby shower for an expectant boy mom? We had one for my sister (yay, I'm finally an aunt!), and I have the downloads and party supplies you need listed right here! In this post, I cover the party preparations, decorations, activities, and food we had to celebrate the supermom.
Party Preparations
My mom had sent me a draft of the invitation and asked me to add something, and if you know me, I chose to vectorize the JPEG she was using. So now we had awesome, crisp invites. But of course I didn't stop there. I created a name tag page that can be printed on sticker paper for guests to use. Party Decor
My mom took care of all the decor. She got star-shaped helium balloons on strings and made clusters of three throughout the room. She found a set of table toppers online that we scattered on the tables and among the food. I had created some additional power words that I printed and cut to tape on the walls and use with the food on toothpicks and kebab skewers. These two power word pages are included in the download mentioned above.
Party Activities
The party activities included cookie decorating, block colouring, and advice giving. Each was set up on its own table, making it easy for guests to move to each one as they pleased.
Although I helped ahead of time to make a double batch of sugar cookies, I thankfully was not the one who had to cut out all the onesie-shaped cookies. For the party, make sure you whip up your favourite icing and divide it up to have blue, red, yellow, green, white, and black. Put it in piping bags and you're all set for a fun edible activity. For fun, we had my sister, the mom-to-be, vote on which ones were her favourites. My mom had some prizes for the lucky winners.
For the blocks, we cut out squares that contained letters, numbers, shapes, and power words. With some Mod Podge, we stuck them onto the blocks. Guests were then able to add to each block drawings representing the letters or numbers. We got a set of 40 dice, so we had enough for the 26 letters of the alphabet and numbers 0-9. That left 4 extra blocks. The shapes and power words were placed on some of the extra blocks as well as on the alphabet and number blocks. The remaining blank sides were then drawn on by the guest. For example, if they picked up the "O" block, they could draw something that started with an "O" such as an octopus or olive. My daughter's first name also starts with an "O", so she was able to write her name on it as a fun reminder of who attended. The same is done for shapes and numbers, drawing representations of each. We found that permanent markers worked best if you want to seal it.
As for the advice activity, have some markers or pens on hand so that guests can write down advice, encouragement, and helpful tips to the mom-to-be. This page is also included in the Superhero download.

Party Food
You can make the food as simple or complex as you'd like. If you are hosting over a mealtime, having pizza could be lots of fun. Here's a quick list of what my mom prepared:
- blue food: blueberries, blueberry muffins,
- red food: apples, cranberry poppers, strawberries, cherry tomatoes
- yellow food: pineapple, bananas, bell peppers, chips
- green food: grapes, cucumbers, lime slices (for drinks)
- white foods: popcorn, sliced baguette, soft spreadable cheese
- other foods: pretzels, cheetos, carrots, candy

Party Overview
If you want a slower-paced party with not all the attention on the mom-to-be, this is a great party to have. My sister opened gifts throughout the party, and because everyone was at different stations, she didn't have all the attention on her (which can sometimes be overwhelming for a new mom-to-be). If you include games, make sure to have fun prizes to give winners!
